After the AXSWC interface has been programmed and is functioning properly, button assignments for the steering wheel controls may be reassigned.
NOTE
(Example) Remap the Seek Down button to function as the Mute button.
Button Remapping Methods
Button Remapping can be achieved:
- By following the steps below.
- Via a Windows-based computer using the Axxess Updater.
- Via the Axxess Updater app available from the Android or Apple mobile devices App Stores.
TIP
Apple mobile devices will require the use of the AXHUB-1 for this feature
Button Remapping Procedure
Follow the steps below to remap SWC buttons:
WARNING
If more than twenty (20) seconds elapse between any step below, the remapping procedure will abort, and the LED on the interface will go out. The interface may not function properly and must be reset and reprogrammed.
- Cycle the ignition On and wait until the LED flashes Green once, then goes out.
- Immediately press and hold Volume Up on the steering wheel until the LED turns solid Green, then release. The LED will then go out, indicating Volume Up has been programmed.
- Press and hold Volume Down on the steering wheel until the light turns solid Green, then release. The LED will then go out, indicating Volume Down has been programmed.
- Continue from Seek Up/Next in the Button Function Legend below to reference the order in which the steering wheel control buttons must be programmed.
NOTE
If a function in the legend is not present on the steering wheel, press Volume Up on the steering wheel until the LED turns solid Green, then release. This will force the interface to skip that function.
- Press and hold Volume Up on the steering wheel until the LED turns solid Green, then goes out.
- Release Volume Up.
The remapping process is complete.

NOTE
Certain radios may not feature all commands. Please refer to the manual provided with your radio, or contact the Radio Manufacturer for specific commands recognized by that radio.
