In select Nissan vehicles, the On-Hook, Off-Hook, and Push-to-Talk buttons are routed through the factory Bluetooth, which is lost when the OE radio is removed.
If you wish to utilize the Bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel with an aftermarket radio, you must bypass the factory Bluetooth module using the instructions below.

Nissan Bluetooth Bypass Instructions
A quick and easy plug-and-play harness sold by Metra (Part # AXBTH-NIS) can help bypass the Bluetooth module.
→ Bypassing the Bluetooth Module
Follow the steps below to bypass the factory Bluetooth module:
- Locate the Bluetooth module.
NOTE
Refer to the Vehicle Applications & Bluetooth Module Locations table below.
- Unplug the 32-pin harness from the Bluetooth module.
TIP
It will remain unplugged after connections are made.
- Connect Pin 12 to Pin 17 from the 32-pin connector.
- Connect Pin 13 to Pin 18 from the 32-pin connector.
- Connect Pin 14 to Pin 19 from the 32-pin connector.
After the pin connections are made, refer to vehicle-specific instructions for the AXSWC to complete installation.

TIP
At minimum, the connection point must be protected with a non-conductive tape (such as electrical tape).
Follow the splicing steps below to bypass the Bluetooth Module:
- Locate the wires entering the module at Pins:
- 12
- 13
- 14
- 17
- 18
- 19
- Carefully strip away a half-inch section of the wire covering using a wire stripping tool.
- Twist the following wire pairs around each exposed wire section created in Step 2:
- The wire from Pin 12 to the wire in Pin 17
- The wire from Pin 13 to the wire in Pin 18
- The wire from Pin 14 to the wire in Pin 19
NOTE
Ensure the SWC wire is secured to the connector wire.
- Secure the splices between the wires with non-conductive electrical tape.
