    Introduction

    The following instructions will guide you through the installation process to replace the Subwoofers into the factory locations of your BMW.

    • #2 Phillips Screwdriver
    • Panel Tool
    • Ratchet Wrench
    • Torx: T-15, T-45

    Disassembly

    Follow the instructions below to disassemble the necessary components.

    Seat Removal & Speaker Removal

    Follow the instructions below to remove the seats and speakers.

    1. Move the seat all the way forward.

    1. Open the back door and remove the trim on the B-pillar.

    1. Remove the lower B-pillar from the vehicle.

    1. From the back seat, remove the plastic trim that is covering the end of the seat track.

    NOTE This will expose the seat bolts.

    1. Remove the two (2) T-45 bolts from the rear location of the seat.

    NOTE There is one (1) bolt on each rail.

    1. Slide the seat all the way to the rear.

    3. Remove the panels that are covering the seat rails.

    TIP Use a panel tool if needed.

    1. Remove the two (2) T-45 bolts from the front location of the seat.

    NOTE There is one (1) bolt on each rail.

    1. Fold the seat back to the front
    2. Lift the seat so that it leans into the rear seat.

    NOTE Complete removal of the set is not necessary.

    1. With the seat leaning to the rear, you should have full access to the speaker location under the seat.

    1. Remove the four (4) Philips screws from the woofer grille and remove the grille.

    1. With the woofer exposed, remove the four (4) T-15 screws from the woofer.

    NOTE You will have to pull back some of the carpet pad to access some of the screws.

    1. Unplug the harness from the woofer and remove the speaker.

    Installation

    Follow the instructions below to install the subwoofer and seat.

    Subwoofer Installation

    Follow the instructions below to install the subwoofer.

    1. Attach the included speaker harness to the new subwoofer.

    1. Insert the new subwoofer into the mounting location.

    1. Install the four (4) T-15 screws to secure the woofer.

    1. Reinstall the factory grille with the four (4) Philips screws.

    TIP If the T-15 screws are not fully tightened, the subwoofer will produce some rattling. Make sure to tighten the screws during installation.

    Seat Installation

    Follow the instructions below to install the subwoofer and seat.

    1. Put the seat back into place so that the holes on the rails line up to the bolt locations.
    2. Install the two (2) T-45 bolts into the rails in the front of the seat.

    1. Slide the seat all the way forward to allow access to the rear mounting holes.

    1. Install the two (2) T-45 bolts into the rails on the rear of the seat.

    1. Slide the panels as necessary to reinstall the panels onto the rails in the front of the seat.

    1. Re-install the lower B-pillar into the location shown.
    2. image
    3. Re-install the trim around the rear door.

    NOTE Repeat the above steps on the opposite side of the vehicle to complete installation.
