- Remove the harness from the packaging and extend the longer wires away from the connector so that the loops remain.
- Cut the WHITE and BLACK lines from the connector, leaving only the loops.
- Connect the harness to the OE speaker harness.
TIP You will NOT be using the factory dash speaker wires for this kit. You will use the LD-VB-TWTDH harnesses provided in the kit and labeled FR and FL DASH SPEAKER.
- Using a flexible wire fish rod, run the appropriate harness from the dash speaker location to the OE radio cavity.
- Repeat the process on the other side of the dash.
NOTE The tweeter harnesses have different connectors on each end of the harness and are labeled FL (front left) and FR (front right).
Dash Speaker Installation
Follow the steps below to install the speakers in your dashboard.
The 2.7” speakers include a set of aluminum rings that will attach to the speaker and provide mounting points to secure the speaker into the dash. To install the ring onto the speaker:
- Place the speaker face down on the workbench. (Fig A)
- Place the ring onto the speaker.(Fig B)
- Slowly turn the ring counter-clockwise to line up the threads.(Fig C)
- Once the threads have lined up, slowly start to turn the ring clockwise to tighten onto the speaker. (Fig D)

- Install the two (2) 6”x24” pieces on the inside of the door, above and below the tubular support in the door.
- Using the printed templates, mark and cut the material to the proper sizes. (1) 12”x24” sheet of Ballistic should be able to provide the material for the lower door by the speaker and the upper door by the side mirror.
- With the pieces cut, install them onto the door panel with a roller.
NOTE This should go at the end of this part of the install. Have a section completely dedicated to cutting and applying the templates.
NOTE Be sure to cut out the mounting tabs for the speaker.
Repeat the same process for the other side of the vehicle.
Front Door Speaker Installation
Follow the instructions below to install the front door speakers.
- Prepare the 82-8147 speaker adapter by removing the tabs to allow the installation on the 6.5in Vibe speaker.

7. Connect the 20-pin harness into the DSP.
8. Route the RCAs, REMOTE WIRE and SPEAKER HARNESS through the dash and to the passenger side floor board to run down the passenger side of the vehicle.
NOTE Connect the LD-VB-TYEXT harness to the matching connector on the T-harness to allow the harness to reach the cab’s rear wall.
9. Tuck the connected DSP into the dash cavity behind the AC controls.
Amplifier Wire Routing
The amplifier kit includes a 4GA Red power wire that will run from the vehicle's battery to the cab's rear. It also consists of the MANL fuse holder with a 100-amp MANL fuse.
Follow the steps below to route your amplifier wiring properly. The amp kit includes a short piece of 4GA wire that connects to the vehicle battery terminal.
- Install the short piece of 4GA into the fuse holder using a T-20 TORX.
- Insert the 100-amp MANL fuse into the holder using a T-20 TORX.
- Connect the longer piece of 4GA power wire to the fuse holder using a T-20 TORX.
- Attach the end of the longer 4GA power wire to a wire pulling tool.
- Locate a large grommet on the firewall, and pass the wire pulling tool through so that it comes out under the driver side dash.
- Pull the 4GA wire into the driver side floor board, leaving enough slack in the cable to connect to the fuse holder at the battery.
Trim Panel Removal
Follow the steps below to remove your trim panels.
- Use a suitable plastic trim tool to pry upwards and release the panel clips gently.
- Remove the panels along the running board on both the DRIVER and PASSENGER side of the vehicle.
- Route the 4GA POWER WIRE down the driver side of the vehicle, and route the RCAs, REMOTE WIRE, and SPEAKER HARNESS down the passenger side.
- The wires should be routed to the rear wall of the cab.
This can be completed when the rear panels are removed.
Rear Seat Removal
Follow the steps below to remove your rear seats.
- Fold the lower seat cushion up.
- Remove the headrest from the upper seat cushion, and then pull the lever to release the seat back to let it fold down.
- With the seat-back down, using a pick or panel tool, remove the cover panels on each side of the rear of the seat back to expose two (2) 14mm bolts.
- Remove the 14mm bolts to allow the rear set to be removed.
- Repeat the process for the other side of the vehicle.
NOTE The passenger seatback has a harness connected. You DO NOT have to remove the harness. You can move the seatback enough to work on the back wall.
Rear Panel Removal
With the rear seat-backs removed, you can now remove the panels from the back wall.
- Using a 10mm socket, remove the (3) bolts holding the driver side panel.
- Using a 10mm socket, remove the (3) bolts holding the passenger side panel.
- With the bolts removed, pull on the driver side panel to separate it from the back wall, and remove it from the vehicle.
- With the driver side panel removed, pull on the passenger side panel to separate it from the back wall, and remove it from the vehicle.
NOTE The rear panels WILL NOT be reinstalled. The subwoofer enclosure and amp rack will be located on the back wall, and still have clearance for the rear seatback to fold up and down.
Audio Equipment Installation
This kit includes a precut board and a set of determined mounting locations for the amplifiers and the power distribution block. It is designed to use the existing mounting locations of the truck's back panels.
Follow the steps below to install your audio equipment.
Tip: The installation of the product onto the board can be completed outside the vehicle.
- Using the supplied screws, mount the amplifiers in place, with the RCA inputs pointing UP.
- Using the supplied screws (smaller heads), mount the distribution block. The Vibe amplifiers are fused inside the amplifier case for added protection against short circuits.
Wiring The Board
- Using the provided 8GA Red power wire, connect to the distribution block and to the respective amplifiers.
- Distribution Block Screw T-20 Torx
- Vibe Amplifier Screw 5/32 Allen
- Install the 8GA BROWN GROUND WIRE into the GND terminals of the amp. You can cut the wire to length for better wire management. The suggested ground point is on one of the bolts securing the bracket for the rear seatback.
- Finish routing the 4GA POWER WIRE to the amp rack, and install it into the distribution block using a T-20 TORX.
- Install the 4GA power wire to the battery connection under the hood.(PHOTO)
- Route the LD-VB-TYEXT harness and the REMOTE WIRE to the amp and install into the proper terminals.
- Run the REMOTE WIRE to AMP 1 and cut the wire to install in the amp. With the remaining length of REMOTE WIRE, strip back one end and install in AMP 1 with the other wire and then run the remaining length to AMP two (2)and install on the remote input.
- When wiring the speakers using the LD-VB-TYEXT, speaker wires are marked for which amp and the channel they need to be connected to on that amplifier.
